Ambassador von Ballmoos died recently in London

Liberians residing in the UK will on Wednesday hold a home going service in London for the fallen Liberian ambassador Rudolf P. von Ballmoos.
According to a release issued recently by the Union of Liberian Organizations in the United Kingdom (ULO-UK), the service will take place at 11 am at the Saint Matthais Catholic Church on 201 Cheam Common Road, Worcester Park. A repast will follow immediately after the service.

The release, signed by ULO-UK’s secretary general Fidel C.T. Budy , said the organization “will welcome donations for the family. Meanwhile, Liberia’s Foreign Ministry, in a release issued recently said 56-year-old Ambassador von Ballmoos,  who was accredited to the Court of Saint James, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland died on Thursday( December 17) morning at the Epsom General Hospital in Surrey, London.

The release noted that “Prior to his demise, Ambassador von Ballmoos, served his Country and People as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, The Vatican and the Sovereign Military Hospitalier Order of Malta. He also served as Liberia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana.

“He was later transferred from Ghana to the United Kingdom as Liberia’s Ambassador to that Country, where he remained up to his demise.

“Ambassador von Ballmoos was one of Liberia’s outstanding diplomats, who served his country and people with dedication, commitment and loyalty.

“Arrangements are underway with authorities of the Epsom General Hospital and the Liberian Embassy in London, to ship back home the mortal remains of the Late Ambassador von Ballmoos.”
