The chairman of a special presidential task force investigating corruption in Liberia is in the United States to hold discussions with Liberian lawyers residing in the US on asset recovery issues.

According to a release issued Wednesday by the task force, its chairman, Cllr Jonathan Fonati Koffa said that the discussions will focus on how Liberia can be able to recover assets and funds that have been allegedly siphoned by Liberians currently residing in the US.

Like we promise our Liberian people, we are not going to leave any stone un-turn in the pursuit of this case, and our quest to uphold the President’s promised in fighting  corruption in Liberia,” the Task Force Chair stated prior to his departure from the country.

Also, the task force, which is also investigating the Global Witness Corruption report case, has dispatched a five-man delegation to London, the United Kingdom, for more evidence gathering.

The delegation is headed by the Cllr. Darku Mulbah, Chief Prosecutor of the Special Presidential Task Force.

Cllr. Koffa said that while in London, the five-member delegation will talk to British authorities, witnesses and also hold discussions with officials of the Global Witness.
