Onuachu hits three in Danish Superliga

Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu scored three goals to power champions and league leaders Midtylland to a 4-1 away win over Nordsjaelland in the 13th round of the Danish Superliga over the weekend.

Onuachu has hit the net seven times halfway into Denmark’s top football championship. Also on target was Ghanaian Godsway Donyoh who provided the consolation for Nordsjaelland.

2nd placed FC Copehangen trounced Velje 3-1 to keep the pressure on the league leaders, with Senegalese striker Dame N’Doye scoring in the 72nd minute to cancel out an opener from Velje’s Tunisian midfielder Imed Louati.

Mugbaga Bakenga of DR Congo heritage clinched a late consolation for Tromso in a 2-1 defeat to IK Start while Nigerian Babajide Akintola and Senegalese Ibrahima Wadji scored both goals as Haugesund whipped ODD 2-0.

Sweden’s second tier, Superettan, saw a few African goals as there were none in the premiership, Allsvenskan.

Ghanaian attacker hit his 11th for the season for relegation-threatened Landskrona in a 3-1 loss to GAIS, who too are not sitting comfortably as the competition welcomes its last three rounds.

Nigeria’s Nsima Peter grabbed the opener, his 10th for the season, for 9th-placed Frej to win 2-1 over struggling Varberg while South African midfielder Sameehg Doutie provided an 83rd minute winnner after only a minute on the pitch as Varnanmo continued its revival with a 3-2 win over relegation-bound Gefle.
