Young Liberians hold summit in US

A summit of youthful Liberians is convening in the US to discuss important issues affecting Liberia.

During the Young Liberians Summit in Sacramento, California put together by the Young E’nnovative Leaders of Liberia (YELL), topics like Liberia’s education system, poverty reduction, self-renewing behavior and encouraging innovation will be on the table.

A number of young Liberian speakers are lined up to speak during the four-day event which is themed ‘Bridging the gap between Liberians globally’.

Popular child rights activist Kimmie Weeks, Macdella Cooper, Venus Johnson and Elijah Nyaneor will take to the podium as special guest speakers on Saturday during the summit.

According to information provided by the organizers, a portion of the proceeds from a dinner and dance slated for Saturday evening will go to YELL Scholarship Fund & Empowerment Program

The summit, which began Thursday, will end on Sunday.
