Participants of one of the meetings to organize the festival

A whole day celebrating African culture is scheduled this Saturday in the Swedish city of Kinna.

Organised by the city’s Adult Education Union ( in Swedish, Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan) and a local NGO, Iyam Care Association headed by Indira Njikam, the Hello Africa Festival, which begins at 11 am, will have a host of activities.

There will be a presentation providing an overview of the continent’s culture, a fashion parade, music, dance, food, among others. Organisers note that the whole day affair will have lots of activities for the kids and the entire family.

This will be the first time that such a festival will be held in the small city and the plan is to make it an annual event.
