EFLA President Brownell is seeking reelection

The deadline for the registration of candidates for elections of the new leadership of the European Federation of Liberian Associations (EFLA) has been extended to Saturday to allow for the registration of more candidates. The first deadline was June 30. The elections will be held in Finland on July 25.

According to the chairman of the federation’s adhoc elections commission Joseph Boakai, the decision to extend the registration time was reached by the executives of EFLA.

Information available notes that current president John Nimly Brownell of the United Kingdom is seeking reelection but will be challenged by Isumel Kromah, a resident of Switzerland.

Other registered candidates include Philip Weah of Norway and Isaac Ziki Witherspone who lives in Finland, running to become vice president while Daniel-Tarcheon Chea and Menti Toe-Usansuu of Finland are respectively the lone candidates for the posts of secretary general and treasurer.
