New director for Nordic Africa Institute
The Swedish Government has appointed a new director of the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI).
Therése Sjömander Magnusson, who has a PhD in international water issues, was appointed last week to replace Iina Soiri, who has served in the position for the last six years. She takes office on October 1.
Magnusson has many years of experience in development issues. She comes from a leading position at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).
“I look forward to the assignment to lead the NAI and contribute to the authority becoming the natural hub for Africa research in the Nordic countries,” Magnusson noted.
Nordic Africa Institute is a center for research on contemporary Africa jointly financed by Sweden, Finland and Iceland.
