South African midfielder moves to Sweden
South African playmaker Mark Mayambela has struck a three-year deal with top Swedish football club Djurgarden.
The 26-year-old, who last played in his country’s top division for Mpumalanga Black Aces and had been on trial for some time with the club based in the Swedish capital, said he was happy to join one of Sweden’s biggest outfits.
It is wondeful and nice. I feel priviledged to join a team with such great history, one of Sweden’s greatest clubs, he told the Djurgarden’s web TV.
He said he is confident that his talent will enable him to have a wonderful time in the club. The playmaker expressed gratefulness to his new teammates for being very welcoming.
Mayambela also played for South African premeirship sides Bloemfotntein Celtic and Orlando Pirates
