Sweden: Saidi, Kasim push Norrby forward

Nigerian striker Salisu Abdullahi Gero scored a 40-minute opener as Ostersund improved its position in Sweden’s premiership football championship (Allsvenskan) with a 2-1 victory over lowly-placed Kalmar in the 10th round.
 
Ostersund’s 4th win takes it to the 7th position with 15 points, six behind league leaders and defending champs Malmo.
 
Another African on the score sheet was Tunisian Issam Jebali, who made it 2-0 for Elfsborg in a 3-0 trashing of Jonkoping Sodra. After setting up David Gustafsson for the opener, the Tunisian playmaker increased the tally in the 54th minute with a low shot.
 
Meanwhile, Malawian striker Tabitha Chawinga continues to dominate in the top female division, the Damallsvenkan, scoring a hat-trick in both halves for Kvarnsvedens in a 3-1 sixth-round triumph over KIF Orebro. 
 
Also, the 9th round of the men’s first division (Superettan), just one step below the Allsvenskan, saw Abdelrahman Saidi of Algerian extraction and Ghanaian Prosper Kasim combining to give newcomers Norrby its second win.
 
17-year-old Saidi, in his first-ever match in the Superettan, set up Kasim to score a 53-minute winner over Varnamo. That was the Ghanaian’s first strike in the league. The 2-1 win lifted Norrby from the relegation zone.
 
Nigerian mindfielder Dominic Chatto grabbed one of the goals as 8th -ranked Falkenberg earned a surĂ¥rising 2-0 win over 3rd-placed Dalkurd. He struck in the 77 minute to seal the win.
 
Another Nigerian Oke Akpoveta scored the equalizer as Helsingborn came from behind to beatpened the scoring early in the second half as Helsinborg beat Oster 2-1 to remain on second spot on the table.
