Malawian female striker Tabitha Chawinga is the hottest player in Sweden’s topmost female football league, the Damallsvenskan.
 
After eight rounds of the current championship, the 21-year-old, who plays for Kvarnsveden IK, tops the scoring chart with 12 goals, three short of her tally last season.
Chawinga has reached this far in style scoring seven goals (including two hat-tricks) in her last three matches and scoring in almost all her club’s matches this season.
 
Her goals have now placed the modest team in 6th position in the women’s league, one of the best in the world.
 
In a recent interview with a local paper, Chawinga noted that her ambition is to be a top player known all over the world.
 
Her coach Jonas Björkegren is confident that Chawinga, who has scored 104 goals in 69 appearances for the club since joing three years ago, can reah the apex of female football.
 
He noted that if she keeps on putting on these performances it will not be long before she moves to a bigger side.
